The version from BB1 has the problem too, it seems to only
affects drives on IDE busses that have NEVER seen AmigaOS,
most likely pre-formatted with MSDOS...

AND, it only happens on some drives....

But, once it is recognised (installed) there appears to be
no other problems, but keep v3.1 around for a while
incase you strike a stubborn one...
